    San Diego

I'm going to be visiting SD next month... Need some suggestions.

There will be 4 of us, all between 25-35. I'm looking mostly for nightlife suggestions, food suggestions and anything else that would be fun to do over a weekend. I'll be in Friday - Monday. Sunday we'll be going to the Seahawks/Chargers game, so that leaves us with 2 full days and 3 nights to see the city.

I know there's a few SoCal posters here, and some in SD specifically. Any help is appreciated!

I was there about two years ago and stayed at the Hyatt right by the ballpark. My girlfriend and I went to Barleymash in the Gas Lamp district for lunch one day, and ended up staying for six hours. At one point the chef came out and had a beer with us, and we ended up hanging with two servers. Great food, excellent beer list. The only caveat I will give is that I recommended it to a friend of mine who went and reported that it was quite a "bro fest with many a bro down going on", so YMMV. The zoo lived up to the hype and is worth the price of admission. And while the GF was presenting at her conference I wandered down the waterfront to the Midway museum. Much, much cooler than I was expecting. Lots to see, and I got to watch a CPO retirement ceremony. So much cooler because half the sailors in attendance were wearing the eagle and trident (Coronado Island, where the SEALS still do a bunch of training, is right across the harbor).

Very, very cool town that is now on our short list of places to relocate to.

Gas lamp district. Hottest per capita women in the country.

Eh, they weren't anything to sneeze at, but I saw a lot better when we went into the towns just north of the city.

That list put Riverside ahead of Boston, NYC and Miami, so bzzzt, I'm calling BS. Breed you may or may not have been to Boston, but ain't no way Riverside is more cool than NYC or Miami! Not no way, not no how! Its not even cooler than any of the cities on that list, its a dump! :p

BTW, I've lived in 6 of those 20 cities. Born and raised in Bethesda (#19), lived in DC (#1) SD (#6), Denver, Boston, Santa Ana/Irvine. Guess I have good taste :D

I've lived in Riverside. It's a pretty cool place. Besides all these listings always have some mid-tier/mid-level cities in the mix. Hello Riverside, Sacramento and Santa Ana. Lived in Sac-town and been to Santana enough to know those are pretty cool places as well.
