    Atlanta, like most big cities, has avoidable areas, but it's a very nice city. The heat can be an issue for some.

    That's true, but ATL doesn't really have anything special going for it that other cities with similar issues have - e.g. NYC, DC, etc.

    Damn good point. No, I was there in June 2010 for my Master's graduation and it was fabulous. FAB-U-LOUS weather. A boss of mine used to be on the George H.W. Bush communications team, and he was telling me Kennebunkport was awesome in the summer, that of his ten trips there, the first nine were all during the summer. He said there was always a pleasant breeze, you could wear a suit and not sweat or go shorts and not get cold, just awesome. Even when it rained, it was pleasant, quaint. Then his last trip he went in January. "**** that", he said.
