    Bears Make Post Minicamp Cuts/Signings

    Released:

    QB Jerrod Johnson
    TE Fendi Onobun
    DE Israel Idonije
    S Sean Cattouse

    Signings:

    DE Jamil Merrell
    LB Conor O'Neill

No link yet on ChiSports yet, just saw on twitter.

Not surprised Idonije got released...if their plan is to keep 10 DL, it could look like this:

    RE - Allen, Young, Washington
    NT - Paea, Ferguson
    DT - Ratliff, Collins, Sutton
    LE - Houston, Bass

I'm not surprised with Idonije either but like him as player. Hopefully that speaks to what we have on the roster.

No surprise on Onobun. We need to bringing in another VETERAN TE.
The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!

Idonije... When you sign 2 high $ DEs and draft 2 DTs in the first 3 rounds, that's not a good sign for a 33-year old DL guy whose NFL minimum is around $1M. Not too surprising.
Cattouse... Was nothing but TC fodder, although they could've waited until Conte came back.
Johnson... Seemed like the odd man out. The least surprising move as 1 QB move had to be made.
Onobun... Now I'm absolutely shocked at this move. Behind Jennings, we have NOTHING at TE. Even if he wasn't going to make it, you'da thought they'd bring him to camp and give him a chance. This says that he either showed up out of shape or dropped EVERYTHING, demonstrating no development that they hoped for with him.
Wouldn't it be great if we booted the 200 lawyers from the House and Senate and replaced them with economists? That way, we'd stop harming our economy with laws that would apply to the politicians, too.

Yeah, sad to see Mannely retire - he was an all-time fave as well.
