The 5-game suspension for Machado sends a message that it's less of a crime throwing a bat at someone than a ball. Which makes no sense.

While I get the point, a pitcher 6/7 game suspension is very different from a position player 5 game suspension.

Yeah, 5 game player suspension is = ~25 games for a SP.

Yah, and most pitchers who throw a ball at someone come a lot closer or make serious contact. Not that I'm defending Machado, but the penalty seems fair.

Suspension served..... and Manny is back in a big way. He's been crushing the ball recently. It appears that the rust he acquired during his injury rehab is gone now. Yay!

He still likes to clip catchers' heads with his backswing, though. At least he seems to have learned not to laugh when he does it...baby steps, I guess.

They were saying a few of the vets sat him down and told him how to be more of a pro. Maybe it'll help.

I've heard that Adam Jones has taken him under his wing.
