    Peppers v Allen

I was reading a report about Peppers signing with the pack and it made me wonder... he is 34.

Why in the world didn't they go after Jared Allen... currently better at this stage of respective careers, he wanted to go to a contender which GB is and he is younger.

I think they signed the wrong world class free agent DE in the final stages of his career.

i don't think either fit really well in a 3-4. but I do think that peppers could maybe be a decent 5 tech, but if they plan on having him play OLB....I think that's a huge stretch.

Doh! I forgot about the 3-4... DeMarcus Ware would then have probably been the best of the DE for Green Bay.

Not sure why I care so much which DE would be best for GB.

Anyways... off to thinking about the draft.

Ware could have been a fit, but he got way more money. There's been lots of speculation about how Capers will use Peppers -- full-time vs. part-time, DE vs. OLB, possible hybrid formations, etc. I think he offers more versatility than Allen would have, even if #69 is the better hand-in-the-dirt pass rusher at this point in their careers.

How much help did Allen have last year. People say he's declining, but I didn't see a lot around him on the D line to take pressure off him.
    Odd Facts:

The human brain is incapable of producing a face. Any face you see when you dream is one that you have physically viewed at some point in your life.

The Australian aborigine language has over 30 words for “dust.”

Nearly three percent of the ice in Antarctic glaciers is penguin urine.

When you see little white or clear dots floating in your vision, they are actually your own white blood cells.

Allen is declining. How many of his sacks the past couple years haven't come in garbage time against garbage teams? His first few years he got his no matter who he lined up against, the past few years rookies and journeyman have shut him down.

I'm not saying he couldn't offer something to the Bears if used correctly, but he isn't the player the Vikings traded for by a long mile.

jared allen is a class act, and one of the better dudes to ever don the purple. but i honestly don't know what he has left. I think the next few years, he could very well put up 10-13 sacks per year, after that, who knows.
