I would take Robinson over Watkins but I'm a huge Robinson fan. And Loadholt is the type of road grader that easily could kick inside to RG and be one of the better RG's in the league and we still likely get a pick for him in a year or two from now from some desperate OL starved team.

(There is no draft scenerio where I take Matthews or Lewan at #8 other than a tragic green room mishap that takes out 2 or 3 prospects.)

I don't know if Loadholt could play OG, he is top heavy and has no balace, gets knocked around pretty easily because of his height. You don't see too many really tall OGs for a reason. They are going to lose the leverage war.

He is fast but that isn't enough in the NFL. At 6'1" he will still be a good WR and will beat people in a number of ways but he is not that big 6'4" type of target teams can throw lots of jump balls to.

He'd be the best guard we have had since Hutch was still good. Its not his ideal postion but it still would improve our OL dramtically IMO.

Loadholt is a monster in the run game. He really has progressed each and every year. He wouldn't be the best pass blocking guard but in a deep drop passing game like Norv employs it would be better to have his weakness of getting knocked back a little too much at OG rather than getting run around at OT like we are likely to see this next season. Its just so rare that you ever see anyone actually able to take advantage of leverage on him since he is so large he just envelopes everyone he get get his hands on and I dont think that would change too much at OG anymore.

Two months ago I would have been doing back flips if you'd have told me this team had a shot at Bridgewater. Right now I'm hoping a defensive stud falls.

I still would be perfectly happy with Bridgewater at #8.

i think bortles is the only qb the vikings would draft at 8. I think they are targeting defense, specifically, db's.

I'm on the fence about Bridgewater, just not sure how his awkward throwing style and slight frame will work.

I would take Bortles and Manziel for sure.

I hope we don't reach on a QB like Bortles, he's been hyped up way to much since all of the draft day speculations started. We need to pick a guaranteed pro bowl defensive player, and then pick Mettenberger in the 2nd.

Bridgewater looks pretty good on tape, but his throwing style is very awkward, and his proday was a disaster. That being said I can't see Spielman reaching on a QB thats not a lock after the whole Ponder flop.

Mettenberger looks to be an elite level qb. Granted hes sort of a one year wonder, has had character issues, and is coming off an injury. But he's the only top rated QB that actually looks like a good QB when hes throwing the ball, and reading defenses. Plus he fits Norvs offense the best.

How many "lock" QBs have been drafted in the last 20 years?

    Marino, Elway, Peyton and Luck.

Not many more than that... no QB is a lock.

However, I agree with the rest of your post.
