Also remember, that's an opinion piece too. It's my view that Obama's re-election in and of itself is not the primary reason the public is arming up. It's a great number of other warning signs. The only reason people seem to throw "Obama" out there as a "reason" is to try to paint people wrongly as "racist". It's a leftist tactic worthy of the slimy MSNBC news network on cable TV. I really hope nobody watches that caustic network. Ditto for Faux News and CIA, um I mean, CNN.

There was an even bigger shortage of ammo in the summer/fall of 2008 than there is now. The reason being that many thought Obama would be elected and take away their guns. It has nothing to do with race. Clinton passed the assault weapon ban in the '90s causing conservatives and gun enthusiasts to freak out when another Democrat had a good shot of being elected POTUS. I work for a federal law enforcement agency. We damn near ran out of ammunition in 2008 leading up to the Obama-McCain election because of this fear.

This time around not only was Obama re-elected but then the Sandy Hook incident happened followed by proposed strict gun legislation. It was a perfect storm for gun dealers/manufacturers and ammunition manufacturers. By the way, it looks as though the government won't be coming for your firearms. None of that proposed legislation is going to pass other than maybe a background check on all gun purchases.

It won't pass because we pro-2nd Amendment types made some noise and trumped the gun grabbers and snatched the fence sitters to our side out of political fear. But don't you believe for one minute that these well organized gun grabbers won't be back. This past round the gun grabbers launched a nation-wide campaign to attempt to snatch the semi-auto rifles. That was a pre-planned, pre-scripted, and pre-written legislative run at our guns. It only failed because those of us who are vigilant spotted how fast their movements were and threw up a herculean political call to all pro 2nd Amendment folks to get loud and get rowdy right back at these lefties and RINOS. It worked. And I largely believe it worked because of a very serious threat by a chunk of people to physically fight back against authorities who would try to take their guns. I believe those powerful political stands froze those authoritarian-driven lefties in their tracks. They didn't expect pledges of civil war to be so loud and from so many. It is what I think reversed that massive attempt by the govt.
