Krugman: People should think for themselves

    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/18/op...-of-folly.html

No wonder a lot of folks here dismiss everything Krugman says out of hand -- he's obviously a nutcase!!
APF doesn't come in screaming at others about how stupid they are. APF doesn't spam NST with the same tired topic 30 times a month. APF doesn't link to some kook in his mom's basement telling you how to, "Be afraid. Be very afraid" of the world falling down around you. And, when APF is proven wrong, he acknowledges he made a mistake and moves on, rather than harping about "sheeple."

He's literally standing in front of a mirror, talking about himself, and he doesn't even realize it.

Instead of going the "They're all conspiracy theorists" route to discredit others, he's going the "These same folks fell for the Iraq War lie" route.

Pretty funny when a guy wants to have it both ways, and criticizes others for being skeptics (which he fancies himself as when it comes to the US debt, apparently) as well as for going with the consensus (as he pulls out the "no serious economist..." card frequently).

He's no more of a nutcase than some of the posters here who have zero self-awareness.

LOL. Here I thought Walsh would actually agree with Krugman's premise but instead he just exposes his own biases.

Krugman is humming your favorite tune here, Walsh, but instead you engage in partisan nitpicking.

How am I "exposing my own biases" here?

Krugman wants to have it both ways, and he's inconsistent. He's whining about consensus in this specific case, while in many other cases, he appeals to it.

Has nothing to do with anything I believe, I'm pointing out that this guy has placed value in consensus before, and magically he wants to be Mr. Counterculture when it comes to our debt problem, which he thinks doesn't exist.

He's not humming my favorite tune, he's commandeering it for this one occasion in which his high-minded view isn't the consensus. And basically trying to shame others into getting in line behind him, just like people who point to consensus do.

I don't expect you to understand these nuances.

Keep trying to smear me as biased and partisan.

What THIS article said is exactly what you constantly moan about.

Paul Krugman is hardly a guy who lives by consensus. He looks for people that agree with him and he is certainly a liberal. But the guy has no problem calling out Democrats when they are doing things he opposes.

Until Paul writes that our debt is our money he's just another hack contributing noise alone.
