Eve of Free Agency-- Off Season Wish List

    1. Restructure contracts and/or make cuts- Jennings, Tillman, Peppers, K. Davis, Hester, Spencer, Melton (long term deal)-- in order to recognize about $11-12M in additional cap space this year. This would get us to somewhere between $14.5-$15.5M total

    2. Re-sign 4 of 5 FA's: Idonije, Roach, Hayden, Louis, Urlacher-- about $9M in Cap Space

    3. Sign new FA: Levitre- about $6.5M in cap space

    4. Draft:
    #20 TE Eifert
    #50 OT Armstead/Watson,
    #114 C Schwenke,
#146/#178/#210 BPA OT, LB, CB, WR

eh. Some of those guys are holes whether we resign them or not. Unga? Rachal? vet min signings would be adequate replacements.

Collins, Walters, and Nolan are RFA's. I doubt that anyone offers what it would take to steal them.

That leaves 14 openings. His post called for 5 signings and 6 draft picks, which would leave room for 3 UDFA's. It isn't out of the line of reason.

If you have a better take, please feel free to offer it.

Bears need to act fast or they won't even be able to sign their draft picks!

There are reports that Hayden doesn't want to return...

    But I would sign:
TE Delanie Walker (3-5 year deal, TE #2),
CB Brent Grimes (1 year deal, recovering from achilles...nickle back),
CB Adam Jones (1 year deal, questionable off field issues in past...nickle/dime back and returner)
OT Bryant McKinnie (2-4 year deal ROT)
DB Charles Woodson (Nickle/dime blitz package...and rub it in to the Packers)
    DE Israel Idonije
    MLB Brian Urlacher

Of course the Bears are going to need to fill out their full roster but those are the guys I want to see signed-- those are the specific moves I want to see made.
