Agree 100% on both points here.
Being the best in a 4-12 season is not saying much, especially when the stats are not that impressive.
I'm sorry, but a 1st rounder should be an 'immediate' contributor, and a stud starter by year 2, otherwise, your drafting/scouting dept is not doing their job. I am not for 'reaches' - i want solid players - and your high round picks should become this. When you are 3 years out.. whether it is for injuries or skillsets.. that's pretty much a bust. If it were a 3rd round player, maybe not so much. But the production didn't match up with the resources used.
