    40 Times

I thought this was a very fun read on what happens to HS reported 40 times - by the time that guy gets measured by the Combine for the NFL.

His take is completely wrong. It's happening, but for far less nefarious reasons. The equipment to test is not nearly as good in HS as in college and the HS coaches want to see their guys get the best possible offers. So they fudge a little. Same with the colleges.
They told me that if I voted for Sarah Palin for Vice President I'd be electing an idiot. I voted for Sarah Palin and they were right

    I'm wondering if we'll ever see a sub 4 forty . . . . Looking it up, Bo Jackson apparently ran a 4.12 ( w/ a 4.18 a week later )

The 40 yd sprint appears to be a measuring stick for the NFL - can't find much more about non-NFL runners

ok, I found something from ESPN - they calculated Usain Bolt's 40 yard time would be 3.53 .......

However, I question this - I didn't get the full breakdown of how they did this, but it takes sprinters a certain distance to reach top speed - not sure how fast he could get going in a shorter amount of space ...

Regardless, Chris Johnson says that he would beat Bolt in a 40 yd race . . .

( but could he beat Holiday ? ;)

Fastest official 40 ever recorded in the NFL was Deion Sanders at 4.19.

    Bo Jackson was reported.

I remember when Michigan reported that Morgran Trent ran a 4.15 then he went out and ran a 4.28 or something. Fast, but schools always report faster then they actually run.
