    ok, now this is foolishness...

A PA, school district was shut down, after a receptionist overheard a student singing the intro to "fresh prince of bel-air"

" An Ambridge Area High School student, 19-year-old Travis Clawson, quotes a passage from the song in his voicemail greeting, saying "...just shootin' some b-ball outside of the school." When the receptionist from his eye doctor's office called him on Thursday to confirm an appointment, she thought that the message was a warning, indicating that he was busy "shooting people" outside of his school. She called Ambridge school officials, prompting a swift lockdown of some schools in Western Pennsylvania."

The problem is that a majority of Americans still have common sense but we're a silent majority. We need to slap down the PC unthinking morons with extreme prejudice.

That was my first thought, too.

So let's get this straight. We can't lay problems at the feet of the gun culture, NO, we need to pay more attention to the warning signs... and yet when someone DOES THAT, and is in error, it's PC'ness run amok?

    good grief.

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - Kung fu Monkey

    I like this perspective.

On the surface what ol' girl did does seem PC amok, but given what's went down since Columbine (and you could easily take it further back than that if you want) far as gun violence in schools goes. I'm OK with chalking this one up to a "better safe, than sorry" scenario.

Far as the kid being 19 and in high school. Yeah, maybe he's an idiot or maybe he had a dad or mom who in trying to give the kid an edge in athletics. Held him out of starting school as long as they legally could.

If all that happened was an error of a lockdown, it's stupid but I'll agree with you.

If the kid faced any subsequent discipline because he "caused" a lockdown then I disagree.
