We'll wrap up the AFC West with the Chargers . . .
While both the Raiders and Chiefs will be in some form of transition this year, neither may compare to what the Chargers will be have transitioned through come next season.
With Norv gone, a completely unproven first time head coach in McCoy, and a whopping 25 free agents, it is safe to say that the Chargers we have known for the bulk of the past decade will be very different.
I don't know what to expect ... The team has both starting CB ( Jammer and Cason ) heading into free agency unrestricted, along with Shaun Phillips.. Antionio Gates is no longer the threat he once was, Vincent Jackson is long gone, as are all the players that made that team a annual contender ( Merriman, Sproles, Tomlinson, etc )
How will the low-key Mike McCoy deal with Phillip Rivers while he's in full meltdown ?
With all the change, will the defense still be there ?? Was it even there last season ( didn't look like it when we were putting up 30+ in one half or Ray Rice was running 29 yards )
Would I be going out on the proverbial limb to say that the Chargers will have fewer wins than the Raiders or Chiefs ???
I think that there is a good chance that our friends in powder blue will finish in the basement next season
