    QB's other than Cutler

Despite how the message is being misinterpreted, I do not hate and am not rooting against Jay Cutler. I still know he's the most talented QB this franchise has ever had and our best shot at a championship. I am disappointed in his play and I do feel he's as responsible as everyone else (coaches and other players) for our horrid passing offense, but I've lashed myself (like most of you, I'm sure) to the mast that is Trestman/Cavanagh in hopes that we can turn this disaster around and fulfill the potential this offense has.
Cutler is plan A and I'm 100% on board with that plan.
I am concerned that we currently have no plan B. Do we even have any other QB's under contract? <Runs to Google...aha, Matt Blanchard is still on the roster>
What do you think the Bears are going to do with the QB position behind Cutler? Could we see some CFL player brought in? Do Trestman/Cavanagh have any other connections to available NFL QB's that we might see brought in?
Do you think the front office will be looking to draft a QB to start grooming a successor?
Are we going to bring back Campbell or McCown? Should we?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from the drafniks around here. I don't follow college ball at all so I know very little about this class of rookies other than there aren't any great 1st rd QB's. Is there ANYTHING at the QB position worth investing a pick on in this draft?

Please provide any feedback concerning our QB depth beyond Cutler.

    Go Bears!

It's a good question. I thought we were OK with Hanie in 2011. He had been with the team a couple years and I liked his moxie. Then we spent $3.5M on Jason Campbell in 2012 and that looked like a good response to the Hanie disaster. But Campbell--while better than Hanie--was also a dud, especially for that $$$.

Of course then you look at what Shanahan did with 2 rookies last year in Washington and you bang your head against the wall.

My gut tells me that getting some older vet is the way to go again. (I have no idea who's available.) But the rather sudden increase in success rate among young QBs encourages me to either draft a QB in the middle rounds for the #3 slot or pick up a guy who was once highly rated, but has washed out from another team, based on the hope that Trestman can make lemonade out of him. If we keep Blanchard or McCown, I could live with that. But that doesn't excite me.

Strategically, this might be a good table-setting year for our QB situation. The line's a disgrace and our receiving corps is understaffed, and until those things are fixed, it's going to be difficult to coach any QB up, or even to accurately assess what we've got. Speaking of which, we've only got a short time to assess Cutler and make a huge decision on his future. Shoring up the line and and rounding out the receiving corps would be the most direct ways of helping our QB, but even on defense, some smart investments would give the offense more opportunities and easier ones.

Spending a significant draft pick on a QB is about the only way we could muddy the waters, so I'm not sure that I want us to go that route. But it sure would be good to add a rookie in Trestman's first year: I'd like to think that we're finally serious about building a GB-style cadre of QBs. If Collin Klein's there late in the draft, manoman he could be a serious project for Trestman. Ryan Griffin from Tulane could be a sort of anti-Klein: a guy who got too little respect because his team was awful and no one saw him. Or Jeff Tuel from Washington State, that sort of late-round/FA guy.
That the world is explicable is miraculous, and so explanations need not be the undoing of miracles.

After you talk about the hole in her nipple, where do you go with it? You’ve got nothing.

We need models. They're beautiful, they're rich, they travel lots, you don't have to spend that much time with them. Those f-ers that date models, they got it made. My next girlfriend's gonna be a six-foot-tall model. Definitely. Big one. I like those chicks.

I would really like to get Chase Daniel.

Sean Renfree or Jordan Rodgers wouldn't be bad as a projects either. Or if one of those QBs drops to say the 4th round, (like maybe Dysert)...I'd be all over that.

i'd ask McCown back and shake Campbell's hand farewell. and, since i'm not a huge fan of any of this year's QBs -- maybe Zac Dysert, and that fandom's lukewarm -- i'm not interested in spending a draft pick on one.

JMSO, the QBs currently under contract (that's Cutler and Blanchard) should have a year with Trestman and Cavanaugh. their actions will tell us pretty well how they feel about those two.
Your Chicago Bears: still learning about this newfangled thing called the "forward pass."

I would maybe look at a developmental QB as an UDFA, but wouldn't invest in one in the draft this year just due to how many other needs we have.

I'd love to go with someone like Moore if they came at a reasonable price. Has Chase had any regular season snaps? Not saying I'm against it, just don't really know anything about him since college.
Basic, yes, but it was something we rarely saw under former Bears coordinator Ron Turner. Turner's idea of in-game adjustments involved his boxer shorts. -Rick Morrissey.
