    Salary Cap Space

Just read an article where the writer had an interesting idea. Should teams be able to trade Salary Cap Space? I like the idea, but there'd have to be some rules. For example I don't think you should be able to Cash to a team to buy Salary Cap Space. Otherwise all this would end up doing is helping the teams who don't mind spending money. What do you think about the NFL allowing teams to use the Salary cap space as an asset ad trade it away if they so choose?

Nope. It would make the bottom feeders with cheap owners perpetually crappy.

This is only half of it, the other half would be the return of the haves vs have nots that is so prevalent in baseball. Do we want a return to the only a few teams are real contenders? Not simply no, but hell no!

I could see it if there were limits and was a clear scale involved. Say only available for draft picks, and make it a hefty price to pay.

They wouldn't be trading the space for cash payment. They would most likely be trading it for draft picks. I think it would more likely make the Redskins and Cowboys, and other teams whose GMs or owners are into big FA splashes, perpetually crappy.

Not with the floor they have in place now. It's a commodity; might as well allow them to trade it like they do players, cash, and picks.

It's actually way more prevalent in the NBA then in baseball. Baseball still has parity with plenty of different winners.
