    'Tis FRIDAY!!!!!

    Plans?

Tonight: Birthday celebration for a buddy of mine. We're going to be belting them out at a piano bar down in the Village. How cliched gay (cli-gayed) can we get?

Tomorrow: Photo shoot for my men's chorus in the afternoon to promote our May concert (I Divi--a celebration of the best of opera and Broadway--how cli-gayed can we get?). Seeing some Tennessee Williams in the evening with my sister and brother-in-law.

Sunday: A "Fu<k It, I Don't Have to Work Tomorrow!" party with friends.

    Monday: Rehearsal.

Tonight: Poker night with the boys.

Tomorrow: There's a special 5-day goose season opening tomorrow so I'll head out for that in the morning and hopefully shoot some geese to close out my hunting season until September. Then cook something in the afternoon and chill with a few beers.

Sunday: Hang out with the GF and maybe go see a movie. Cooking a de-boned cajun chicken stuffed with cornmeal (YUM!!!).

Monday: Getting ready to get out of town. I've got the whole week off of work. So doing laundry and tidying up things around the house in preparation for my departure to...

Tuesday: Vegas beeeches!!!! Gone for 3 nights at a corner suite at the Aria. Back on Friday.

Friday: I think I'll leave work early and try to hike 3+ miles. I threw my back out last weekend after a 3.5 mile hike (history of back spasms) and basically laid up all weekend. Yesterday, I hiked 1.75 miles roughly and felt OK. Then tonight...some friends are taking salsa dance lessons and invited us, but I ain't so hot on that....bad back and I hate dancing anyway....but maybe we will meet for drinks after...dunno....

Saturday: Pull weeds...have to keep my yard clean...I have no landscaping...but HOA hasn't been on my ass yet...and at the same time all construction is 99.9% complete around my hood...HOA will crack down earlier if I don't pull the weeds and generally keep everything "clean and bare". I am building my landscaping budget slowly and planning it...we haven't decided on the final 25% of our design...so we need to keep HOA off our backs for 2-3 more months hopefully. Then after that...if it's nice and warm..I might find a lake to bring my dog for a swim...I dunno if he can swim or not...I feel he can, but need to test in a lake before going to the dog beach this summer.

Sunday: Some house cleaning for sure...then probably "pretend" shopping...wifey and I love to go to stores, but never buy anything...just go to places and point at things and say, "would that look good in X room?"...and maybe a matinee movie....

It's been 4 years since I was last there. This is purely an R&R trip. Couldn't pass up the deal on the room & airfare (3 nights in a corner suite, w/ round trip airfare, and a free Cirq Du Soleil show -- $750).

But it's all about the food, Jim. I've been to a bunch of great Vegas restaurants (Craftsteak, SeaBlue, 5, Joel Robuchon's, and others) butI plan to branch out a bit more this time. Gonna hit up Rick Moonen's place in the Mandalay Bay (RM Seafood), Shawn McClain's place in the Aria (Sage), and my first time to a place off the strip that does boiled crawfish, Hot & Juicy. Seriously can't wait.

Then play in a few hold 'em tournaments, have my fair share of cocktails, and hit up the Marquee club at the Cosmo.

My wife went to her parents and took the dog with her. Unfortunately, I just worked on school and church.
