Yeah, they are. So are PC users. There is no big push to get the dumb rabble to buy locked down Mac's instead of PC's to protect all that data that people typically put on their home computer.

Better for carriers to make an AV program one of the locked in apps on their phones.

Macs aren't exactly a boon to security, they are just not targeted as aggressively (there is some evidence that they'd hold up better then Windows systems, but no system is invulnerable). Windows systems have come a long way since they were lambasted for their lack of security, thought getting there hasn't been without bumps in the road. But even the culture at Microsoft has changed to one of a security based development model. Now, if we can just get Adobe to get its head out of its ass, and maybe Oracle/Java too, we'd make malware developers really have to work for their living.

Maybe you don't need a smarter phone at all. Perhaps it's the phone that needs a smarter user

It's always a people-problem. The most notorious smartphone hack of all time, the Sun phone "hacking" scandal, was nothing more than some people figuring out the phone numbers to various smart phones, dialing the Voicemail and then entering the default password, which worked with incredible regularity. THAT is a people-problem, not a vulnerability with the phone.

Dual sim? I have a work cell only and carrying 2 phones around all of the time is not an option. I really don't know enough about them. But if I can switch from work to personal w/ 1 phone. I'm in.

Samsung Galaxy S Duos runs dual sim. Basically a Galaxy S III, but it sacrifices some performance and stats

first time I've ever put anti-virus type software on one of my phones was my Galaxy SIII, Android is a little to open. AVG offers free one. Recently converted from iphone to android and I love it. Both phones are great. The size of the iphone screen is something I didn't notice was too small until I got a phone with a much bigger screen. Makes going back almost impossible now.

Only issue I have with SIII is the battery. Need to tweak a lot of stuff (which I like doing) to get it running the way I think it should. Have had 3 separate issues in the past where I've gone to sleep with 90%+ battery and woken up with a phone with 1% or 0 battery. I think I nailed down what's causing it. Besides that, it's been a good experience for my first dabble into android.

    Bluetooth is a suck.

A big benefit of phones like this GSIII is NFC. Sit your phone on one when you go to bed to have it shut down all non-essential functions.

Also, removable batteries. I love em.
