    Deano's first 4-round draft

First off, we have so many holes to fill, we need contributions from every draft pick. So I'm drafting mainly big school kids with major experience. They need to step in and play.

That said, I'm trading the #4 pick to STL for #16 and #22.

1-16 Chance Warmack ALA OG. I her the bitching now, but we till need a starting OG. Warmack ma be the best I've ever seen. Plus he reunites with former OL coach Stoutland. Solidifies the position for 10 years. 6-3 320.

1-22 John Jenkins NT GA. 6-3 359. Gives us the pig in the middle needed for a 3-4. Unmoveable and tough against the run. Makes your LBs look real good.

2-4 Eric Reid S LSU. 6-2 208 and getting bigger. Played against the best. Consistent and smart and he has a drivers license so he can drive Nate Allen o the airport.

3-5. Robert Alford CB SE La. 5-11 184. Nice speed, smart, aggressive. Shines against better competition.

4-4 Tony Jefferson S Oklahoma. 5-10 212. Your young Dawkins. Great speed and smart. Equally good in man coverage, zone, and blitzing.

As much as I wanted dBs early, the top DBs don't impress and there is serious value in rounds 3-5.

Your trading??? You might wanna tell the Rams that...LOL. I highly doubt the Rams do that. You never know, but I doubt it. 2nd I don't think Warmack makes it to 16, but again, you never know. Tony Jefferson has potential to be a decent player, but a Brian Dawkins type he is not. The top Db's don't impress you???? What!!!??? With the junior class mixed in this is perhaps the best DB class in years.

Don't see the Rams giving that up and if they do we can do much better than that draft with those picks IMO

Warmack almost defintely won't make it to #16. Perhaps go Lane johnson?
Like Jenkins, but @ #22, I would go CB (Trufant or Poyer).
Love Reid in the 2nd. Not crazy about Jefferson - good cover guy, but not very physical.
Go NT in the 3rd round.
    Not bad though, Deano.

Warmacks not making it to 16. Lane Johnson won't either.

Jenkins is slow. You think Kelly is going to use 2 first round picks on slow guys?

I like taking a cb in the 3rd, but I think Alford goes higher.

2 safeties is the way to go.

Guards in the first ...so who are we giving up on?

Mathis graded out pretty high last year and Watkins is still somewhat young.

Ashley Sky and Eleanor....2 Girls, 1 Dream.

Watkins blows. He was a wasted pick and I question even his ambition.

I was the 1st to suggest trading the #4 to the Rams for #'s 16 and 22 so I'm totally on board with that.
I too doubt Warmack makes it to #16 but might pounce if he is but like TE Eifert more.
I suggested taking Jenkins at #22 so I'm OK there but S Vaccaro might be the wiser pick.
I don't want anyone anywhere near my team named Reid although I think he is a decent pick.

Now, if only Vick would follow Reid out the door maybe football would be fun again.

That is what you said about Brandon Graham prior to last season and he ended up being our best D-linemen last year. You give up on young players far to quickly Deano. You need to give them time. Brandon Graham blew out his knee and your ready to send him packing....Danny Watkins had to learn a position he never played....He was a tackle in college, not a guard, then he got hurt. Don't give up so fast.

I hear ya but I agree with Deano on this one....Watkins is a heartless bust.

What are you basing this on? I mean I'm disappointed his play dropped off but I certainly don't know the specifics of any of it. Do you have something you read or pointed towards his lack of heart?

His play had regressed this past year and there were numerous reports that he wasn't committed and it showed in his practice efforts. When a 1st round pick is outplayed by scrubs you have to accept it for face value. Then there is the issue we've debated since he was drafted; he was drafted well ahead of his projected talent level.

And you need to learn when to cut ties. Stop with Graham. I would have looked special compared to the group of misfits we put on the field last year.

As far as Watkins, the problem is not only a lack of ability, but a total lack of heart. He should have been begging to get back on the field last year. What OL let's a minor injury keep him off the field for so long when his backups are so bad? Tape it up and suck it up. He was an awful draft pick.

That said, we desperately need a starting OT or OG depending on where you put Herremans.

Herremans must go back to guard. He's played on the right side for two years and is our best option on the roster at right guard. Watkins only chance is at left guard where he has said he is more comfortable. He can duke it out with Mathis at LG. These guys (Mathis, Watkins, Kelce, and a draft pick) can battle for two spots (LG & C). I'd love for Watkins to come through at LG and give him one more shot next to Peters. I think Mathis is ok at guard but would give Kelce a good run for his money at center. I'm in favor of adding a guy like Joekel and really, really like Fisher. And no they would not just be our right tackle. With Peters, we are an injury away from disaster all over again. He seems to always tweak something and finds a way to miss playing time. I love the guy but we must get that bookend tackle and he must be able to play left tackle in a pinch. This bookend would eventually take over at left tackle simular to Dallas' left tackle. First two picks should be Oline and secondary help which were easily the two weakest links on the team. Whoever winds up at quarterback is going to get killed if we do not address the tackle position and our defense is going to continue to get torched without any help in the backfield.
