I wouldn't have cried if Elway won, I think a case can be made. I think there's a case that he's not top 3 too.
Just pointing out that the body of work suggests that Elway has done a good job and it wasn't just a 1 year wonder revolving around bringing in Manning. Just the same as the Colts didn't win all those games just because they did the obvious and drafted Luck. Elway was a deserving candidate and I am ok he lost, because the other guy was deserving as well, just was bringing the body of Elway's work to the table so that any myth that this whole thing was just as simple as bringing in Manning and tada a winner... he's made a lot of tough good choices that not everyone is really aware of... all I was saying.

Yea I totally agree this was not just a one year thing. This is back to back great years of management. I mean in two years he's brought in MVP candidates on both sides of the ball to go along with a collection of young starters and inexpensive veteran role players. Pushing out the mistakes of the past regime while keeping all of the good parts. While he didn't win the award for this year, if it was a two year award he'd win in a landslide.

For sure, we're on the same page. I just didn't want to come to another team's board and sound like a dick

I didn't take it that way at all, Nas. You're are always welcome here. Frankly it's good to have some perspective outside our orange tinted glasses.

So when I vent, he's sorta like an extended family member - I mean, Elway provided some of the most memorable times I spent watching games with my Mom and Dad as a kid - football has a way of bonding people, and the Broncos, and Elway specifically, did it with us big time ...

    He'll win another one here - I thought it was going to be this year, but . . . . . .

He didn't deserve it this time ... Thank goodness for Manning, because without him here we'd be looking at a 29 or 30 y/o Brandon Weeden starting . . .

Just two words, but think of the value they added to the discussion.

I laugh in his general direction (northwest).
