    Hagel has been deer in the headlights thus far...

    I have little doubt he'll pass muster and be appointed, but this dude needs better prep assistance. This one exchange seemed to be the tone all day as Democratic Senators bailed out his boat.

    lol...a bit long but after the early trashing, the fun begins at say...6:00 mark. Articulate or 'quick on his feet' are not in Hagel's arsenal.

    caustic interrogations? Probably. Caustic as a way of life, even to those constituents he claims to represent? Doubtful. Cruz is a complete and total douche bag, who was elected ironically because of his monetary advantage.

    All this does is quicken the turn to the left in Texas, and I for one can hardly wait.

    It has nothing to do with the tenor of the interrogation. I just happen to believe Mr. Cruz will soon be vying with Mr. Inhofe for most odious US Senator.

    Hagel will get the nod. He will be the first infantryman to hold the SECDEF job.

    It should be good news to troops but we shall see.

    His views with middle east are troubling.
