Forgot Meyers was an FA. I'd like to sign him. Think Jennings will be way to expensive, like the idea of a veteran WR, but think we'd need to look more economically.
Basic, yes, but it was something we rarely saw under former Bears coordinator Ron Turner. Turner's idea of in-game adjustments involved his boxer shorts. -Rick Morrissey.

I don't think we can acquire all of them but it was worth posting. I think Jennings would be a huge boost to the offense. I don't know if we could afford to go that route. Meyers is a new option I wasn't aware was available. I'd personally prefer Keller, or Cook with Bennett next. Keller for sure is athletic and can catch. He's also not bad at blocking and when used he can be dangerous. Cook is raw and still untapped. Bennett has come around and shown himself well. Meyers was all Oakland really had but still put up good numbers. I don't know how he blocks though. Any of these guys would be a huge upgrade over Davis though and at $3 mil we're getting hosed sofar.

Dan Durkin had a really interesting outlook on who we should keep, acquire in FA, what we should target in the draft.
I can't say I completely agree with who we should keep, I do agree on who we should go after via FA, and his draft analysis is interesting.

    good read

This one got my attention :

How about this? A quarterback from the same school as Jay Cutler who happens to be Aaron Rodgers' brother. It's a storyline fitting for the NFC North.

The Bears need another quarterback on the roster, but they shouldn't go out and overpay for a veteran backup, nor should they draft a guy very high.

Instead, Jordan Rodgers can fit this need in the late rounds of the draft.

Marc Trestman has a great track record with developing quarterbacks and he could do wonders with the athletic signal-caller. He struggled at Vanderbilt with turnovers and technique, but the talent is there.

During was an interesting read. Not too far off on our FAs, but Hayden as a must keep jumped out as wrong. Could just be his performance vs GB for me.

Love the idea of Moore as a backup. I had thought about that, but hadn't posted it. Think he's a better option than Campbell for sure.

the mock is interesting; i'd love to land Kelce in Round 4, but i doubt that happens.

i'd take nearly anyone not named Rex Grossman (mostly cos of the abuse he'd get at Soldier Field, rightly or wrongly) instead of Campbell — McCown can stay, Chase Daniel can come in...hell, at this point i'd take Kellen Clemens over Campbell. and while i'd like to get a young player in to compete with Matt Blanchard for the #3 spot, i think non-Day 3 picks are too valuable this year for that unless someone inexplicably makes an Aaron Rodgers-esque slide.
Your Chicago Bears: still learning about this newfangled thing called the "forward pass."

I'm very much on the Chase Daniel plan for a backup. Is he an RFA or a UFA though? I'm sure he wants to do his own Matt Flynn impersonation and try for a starting gig somewhere though - but has he even played more than 10 snaps in his career?

As far as the TE shakeout, I can see TENN franchising Jared Cook. Pretty much anyone is gonna be an upgrade over Kellen Davis, and I wonder if they move Rodriguez back to full time TE. Will be interested to see what Trestman wants to do with him.
