You don't have the average drop-off going from regular season to playoffs do you? Maybe the same statistic for other QB's with decent longevity? Appreciate your information.
Yeah that's pretty damning for sure But this is only their worst 7 games. I have to believe they played a ton of playoff games in that span where their offense produced.

Indeed. So when they lost they didn't score as many points... Pulitzer price winning material there.
What's the idiom? "You aren't as bad as you look in a loss, you aren't as good as you look in a win".
Yep. I'm certainly not saying Brady played well on Sunday but I think Belichick and McDaniels deserve much of the blame too. When you're playing an opponent you traditionally have trouble scoring against you don't play it safe. They did that too much in the 1st half before the Ravens offense took over.

But when you have 4 of the top 12 scoring teams in NFL history, that decline is a lot different than a team like the Colts only scoring 9 points in their playoff loss this year.

I get it. But I think it's less about the Patriots and more about football. I think Gregg Easterbrook noted that of the top 6 or 7 scoring teams in NFL history none have won a Superbowl. Isn't that interesting. I guess Defense still matters in the playoffs. It's no surprise that the championship Patriots had a physical defense that beat up on the opposing team. As much as Brady has grown as an offensive force, I bet most Patriots fans would rather have that D. Brady too for that matter.
Of the losses you cite, only Denver might not count but then the Patriots had like 5-6 turnovers
(2006 was the year the Indy defense rose from the dead to play very well in the playoffs)

I wrote about that last year. High-scoring teams often blow it in the playoffs.
