Will Tony Gonzalez Return for Another Season?

He used the word 'probably' twice in his post-game interview, indicating this was 'probably' his last game. Prior to this I had not heard the word 'probably' but simply 'retirement'.

Isn't it possible, even probable, that with two great young WR's an 'arriving' QB with good O-Line, after ALMOST making the Super Bowl... that Tony reconsiders and returns for one more year?

    Let's take a poll.

I think he retires. I hope he doesn't.

    Ditto.

I think he wants to give it one more go. Hopefully he does.

I've seen many athletes claim that they are leaving.

As long as they CAN still play, they WILL still play. He'll be back. And he may even be back for more than 1 more season.

You can't leave when you were "wide open" on the most important play of your last game.

As a Falcons fan, I hope he stays, but it's been one of the worst-kept secrets that this is his last year. Matt Ryan has even talked about trying to talk him into staying.

He seems like one of the most likeable young men of his era, and a consummate professional - must be a huge positive influence in their locker-room, and for the younger players. I'm hoping he returns, and I think I could see a glimmer in his eye that - now that it's really over - maybe it's NOT really over. Is he a first ballot HOF'er without a Ring?

The Falcons won't win a SB with that defense so no need for TG to return... The Falcons need new LB's and Safety's that can tackle and cover...

Safeties are fine. We need a pass rush and a MIKE and a SAM.

He seemed like he checked out in that one interview after the game. Someone's got to do some serious talking for him to come back.

And yes, RA. He is easily a first ballot HOFer, even without the ring.
As cliche as it may sound, I'd like to raise another round, and if your bottle's empty help yourself to mine, thank you for your time and here's to life.
