What I want to know is....

who will be the OC and DC.

The OC will certainly be a disciple of Kelley's discipline and likely a college guy, but who?

The DC is what intrigues me now. If we are going to a 3-4 alignment which I prefer the DC must be someone with a commanding presence and skilled in the NFL so my guess is he will come from within the NFL community, but who?

I'd love to have K. Butler from Pittsburgh.

Now, if only Vick would follow Reid out the door maybe football would be fun again.

Being reported that the DC will be the DC from Georgia Grantham. He is a 3-4 guy, but he is going to have to run the 4-3 we simply don't have any talent to run the 3-4 and we can't convert to that in one season that is a multiple season conversion.

Kelly will not have an OC he is will serve at the OC

Getting a new coach and sticking it to Georgia at the same time. I love it.

Caplan said he could see Kelly hiring Chris Ault as his OC. "Father of Pistol" offense, retired from Nevada this year

That would be absolutely amazing. This guy is one of the brilliant football minds of his generation, among the likes of Bill Walsh, IMO.

just confirming the recent rumors. Not sure how I feel about a 3-4, especially after drafting Cox #12 overall, drafting Curry and trading for Ryans...These guys are much better 4-3 players

Not sure about last year with the big boy Jenkins but I found an article from 2010 that says that Grantham runs a one-gap attacking 3-4 that doesn't require the big fat NT. I checked with some Cleveland fans and that's what they say he ran when he was the Browns' DC from 2005-7. Think San Diego where a guy like Antonio Garay(6-4, 320) or Houston where Shaun Cody(6-4, 310) plays the position. Seems like you want a taller guy in the 310-325 range with some quickness. I doubt Dixon is really built for that but maybe Cedric Thornton can fill the role at least initially.

Star Loutalelie might be a fit at #4 overall but we can probably get someone later.

Someone like Jay Ratliff. Personally I'd rather have a big nasty pig in there like Jessie Williams from Bama

A lot of teams would want Butler, but he's the heir apparent to Dick Lebeau and isn't going anywhere.

Ray Horton could be available if someone else gets the HC job.

Sorry Dude but you can't just throw out Bill Walsh comparisons everyday. The guy may be great but let's hold back the Bill Walsh until he does something.

It certainly sounds like he wants the Georgia guy, who seems like an excellent candidate--former NFL experience with a variety of noted defensive coaches.

But Horton is an intriguing possibility if he does not get a head coaching gig. By all accounts Kelly is like Reid--he lets the defensive guy run his own show--which may be attractive to a bunch of coordinators.
