All I know is, if Gus Bradley says no and takes another job or stays put, then this spells big trouble for the organization.
Really surprised they haven't given Mike McCoy more consideration. And of course, why not at least interview Jon Gruden?
Better hope this doesn't become a situation like the Redskins in 2008 when they had to wait until mid-February before they backpedaled to ... Jim Zorn.
It's Howard Eskin, so you have to take it with a grain of salt, but Eskin reported that the interview with McCoy went poorly--he didn't interview well. Some other people seem to be suggesting the report sounded true.
The rush is the Arizona Cardinals, the Chicago Bears, and the San Diego Chargers. (It's pretty likely that the Jaguars are going to get Greg Roman, so no worries there.) I'm totally OK with any of the three, or Mike McCoy, or a couple other, lesser rumored names, so we're fine from my perspective. However, if you key in on those three guys exclusively, they've all been linked strongly to other jobs, and that's a concern.
My bad. Read that as "either Gruden, Arians, or Bradley."
To be fair, though, given just how much interest they've shown in Jon Gruden so far, I'm not sure he's a legitimate choice to consider. Hell, they appear to have interviewed Billick before him, (since as into Jon Gruden as people seem to be, I can't imagine they could interview him without it becoming news immediately) which isn't the most promising sign on that front.
Apologies for double-posting, but this seems relevant to a Gus Bradley thread. Apparently, the Eagles have canceled their interview with Bruce Arians. Paired with reports that Gus Bradley is high on our list, and the random rumor that we might be coming to terms with him, it looks like we're starting to narrow the search, hopefully to Gus.
I have not weighed in on this coach discussion until now...but the clincher for me was listening to Trotter talk about him. We can all guess whither Roseman and Lurie know what they are doing BUT when a former player who played at a pro bowl level some of the time says go with this guy I listen. Number one he really has no reason to lie, secondly he was honest about Reid being out coached at times but yet said he loved him so for me this weighs about as much as anything I have read or heard. If Gus can command the respect of grown men in the locker room and has a PRESENCE then he is the guy I want.

i hear gruden has a reputation of a d-bag around the league.
