The switch to a 4-3 questions

So if a corner is a press corner that means that they have skills to lock down receivers, right? That is why they can be put in that situation, right? So what makes their abilities not be able to translate into zone? I can see it the other way around.

Also Spencer, who has not made much of a pass rusher but a damn good run stopper, be an out guy as a DE? A DE is supposed to seal the edge. He seems capable of doing that to me. OTOH he was not as capable of a LB to rush the passer.

Looking for thoughts and break downs on the why's.

If a CB can play press and m2m teaching them to play zone isn't difficult.

If Dallas was a one gap 3-4 defense, then the transition to a one gap 4-3 defense will be simple.

    NT - Ratlif
    UT - Spears
    RDE -Ware
    LDE - Spencer
    OLB - Sims
    MLB - Connor
    etc
