I going to lie to myself

I always try to be honest with myself. I can't remember lying to myself in 30+ years about anything. It just seems to make life work better for me.

However, this time I'm making an exception and I'm going to tell myself that the NFL is not into game rigging. I'm going to tell myself that that one sideline judge just can't walk a straight line when he was shaving 1/2 yard off every one of our plays. I'm going to lie to myself that pass interference calls weren't designed to take DT out of the game. I'm going to lie to myself that Champ really commited pass interference. I'm going to lie to myself that Kuper really did hold on of the best blocking plays I've seen all season.
The reason I'm going to lie to myself is that in this crappy, corrupt world, this game is about one of my last true enjoyments.

I didn't get the feeling that the Broncos were done in by a scheme from the officials, but they were incompetent - and the majority of calls went against the Broncos no doubt. The officiating was a travesity.

Also - the condition of the field looked pretty bad - and seemed to hurt the Broncos on Defense more than the Ravens.

It is just a game, played by guys I have never met - it is pure entertainment after all ...

With that said, the term "fan" is an abbreviation of fanatic - and we come here, for the most part, to discuss this "game" ...

Everyone seems to be taking this loss in stride - I am, however, still bothered and, being that this is up for discussion, have had some serious concerns rear their ugly head ...

This team was gutless - an embarrassing showing from a group that had everything on their side - home field advantage, big name QB, 11 game winning streak, etc

It was not the refs or the field conditions - it was about the QB who choked, once again, in the playoffs ... it was the fear-based approach from the coaches not to lose ...

What kind of confidence are your coaches showing in the prized QB by having him take a knee with 30 some secs left and 2 time outs, with a kicker that can routinely hit it from 50+ ...

Sure, Prater is in a slump - and Manning was obviously shaky - but by choosing to take it to OT, you are going to end up relying on Prater and Manning anyway, right ???
