    OT rule

Ok what happens in this scenario?

Say 1 team goes on a long ass drive and ends up kicking a short field goal. The other team doesn't have much until the OT is over to answer. In the regular season does the 2nd team have to at least score a FG to tie it before the OT expires or will there be a 2nd OT and they'll get a chance to kick a field goal in the 2nd OT? What about the playoffs?

The OT's are just quarters, they would still get to continue their drive. Those would have to be some epic long drives that end in fg's.

Would that be the case in regular season too?

I would assume so but who knows what the NFL is thinking. They might just say screw it, you lose.
