    Humor from bureaucracies (intentional)

    Bonus points for the title

This Isn't the Petition Response You're Looking For

The Administration shares your desire for job creation and a strong national defense, but a Death Star isn't on the horizon. Here are a few reasons:

    • The construction of the Death Star has been estimated to cost more than $850,000,000,000,000,000. We're working hard to reduce the deficit, not expand it.
    • The Administration does not support blowing up planets.
    • Why would we spend countless taxpayer dollars on a Death Star with a fundamental flaw that can be exploited by a one-man starship?

Hopefully, this fad of abusing the petition process dies a quick death. Not exactly a cost efficient use of government resources and not real funny either.

Doesn't take up many resources. Lets people make fun of government.

For a more expensive joke, the UK asks people's religions on a variety of forms, and they've had to expand the list to include an increasingly common answer:

    Jedi

    I'm not making this up.

    I'm not making this up.
    OK, it's stupid then.

I was just thinking about snowstorm Gondolf. Is this the new horrifically not funny trend?

Hurricanes are named a-z to help keep track. How did we go from Sandy to Gondolf and why can't they just tell us the damn weather?
    I'm not making this up.
Of course you aren't. if you were making it up, people would expect some payoff, like humor or meaning.

We get it, you are obsessed with your childhood rocket movie.
