How long did Reid have a foot out the door?

...as he told the Hunt family "he watched every Chiefs game by the time he was interviewed" which impressed the Hunt family. That's a lot of film in < 48 hours...if he actually waited until he was fired to get started.

I know i'm cynical, but i think that's unlikely. So that begs the question: when exactly did Reid "check out" on the Philadelphia Eagles?

We have heard he was told Friday before the game he wasn't coming back, so perhaps he started watching film then. That would explain the team's 35 point effortless performance that Sunday, and perhaps the team didn't even bother to prepare, in other to watch film of say the Cardinals, Chargers and Chiefs? But given the sh!tty performance of the team throughout the season, perhaps Reid checked out several weeks before...maybe even a season ago when he brought Castillo over to coach the D? The possibilities are endless, and 4-12 shouldn't be a surprise anymore with an absentee coach. He essentially stole Lurie's money in 2012.

Reportedly Reid loves looking at film, so I wouldn't consider it that unlikely that he could do that as soon as he firmed up the KC interview. Also, the coaches' film has all the commercial breaks and slow-time in between plays edited out, so its not nearly the 3+ hours that fans have to sit through for each game.

Also, due to the NFC East and AFC West's divisional pairings, the Eagles and Chiefs had 8 games against mutual opponents this year, with KC taking on four teams in weeks prior to Eagles games against them. They had Atlanta in week 1 (we played them week 8), New Orleans week 8 (9), Tampa Bay week 6 (14) and Cincinnati week 11 (15), all of which Reid might have watched during the season as preparation for the Eagles' games against them. We also mutually played Cleveland, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Carolina, but the Eagles played them first. If Reid was enough of a tape hound, he might have watched those games after the fact, during the season, to try to pick up on things, but this is less likely.

Either way, if Reid watched the games played against our opponents as part of game prep, he'd only have had to fit in 12 games to have watched them all this year.

He should have tried looking at Eagles opponent films. Maybe he would not have been so bad.
