    promoted....

    Gilreath and Ta'Amu....

I think they have a chub for Gilreath but to have Ta'Amun to the active roster has caught me by surprise....

I think they may not need to be looking at NT all that much in the upcoming Draft....

I'd have his tongue hanging out of his yapper after this game....

I didn't even realie he was any part of this team. I though we completely cut ties. I'm actually glad we didn't and hopefully he learned from the mistake and has been working his ass off. Would be awesome if we had 1 less need on defense. It would allow us to draft a LB, OLB or ILB, a Safety, or a Guard or WR on offense. I hesitate on saying WR, but with losing Mike Wallace and with ho Brown played down the stretch drafting a WR is in order at some point in the draft. There are some decent WRs slotted into the middle of round 1 and I wouldn't bet against us drafting a WR in RD 1 if they believe the WR is the highest ranked on our draft board. Same goes for Offensive Guard. Colon played like crap, but the only problem is Colon is still owed a bundle of money. Still maybe we draft a Guard and trade Colon. God knows a team like Dallas, Arizona, the Bears, The NYJ, and a boatload of other teams have OL needs. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we trade him for a 2nd or 3rd round pick and draft a Guard in the 1st round.

The thing is if Ta'amu shows something and the Steelers don't feel a need at NT then I'm not sure we need to draft Defense in the 1st Round. Where we're likely to draft there will some CBs & Safety, but as much as we might need those positions they aren't desperate needs and won't need to find starters. So we can look after Rd 1 for those. We could still go OLB if is there we really like, but i'm not so sure there will be. Maybe we go DE which we could have a need for, but Ziggy Hood looked decent at the end of the season and Keisel has at least 1 more season. So IMO if Ta'amu fills the NT need then we could go just about any position in the 1st RD. The only thing is can we just go off what Ta'amu does against a lowly Browns team in the last game of the season? Still I'm glad to see they're giving him a chance.

Even setting aside the DUII incidents(s), color me unimpressed with TaAmu's game after watching him a couple of times in the preseason. What I saw was him getting pushed backwards out of the play by second and third team olinemen. After being a big supporter of the pick during the draft I was pretty disappointed in his play. He is a big guy however, and the Steelers FO must have seen something more from him in practice that leads them to believe he has potential. I hope he works out.

I was okay with the Ta'amu pick more because of where they were able to land him than anything.

He really isn't the space eater they need. He's a penetrator. Would be better served in a different front, IMO.

Dunno how anyone can believe that the Steelers could move Colon for anything of value at this point. Overpaid, overrated and chronically injured. Teams don't trade for those types. They wait for them to be cut and sign them for "free."

Yeah I know that's what's likely to happen, but there does seem like there are more teams desperate for OL this season then in most seasons before. All I'm saying is it can't hurt to try to trade him and hope some stupid team, input Arizona here, offers you just about anything for him. Hell I'd be estactic if they were dumb enough to give us a 6th Rd pick for him. Anything to get rid of that horrible contract.

Anyone know If we cut Willie Colon how much is he going to count against our cap?
