0-16 season sucked. Getting 7 guys arrested a total of 9 times is awful. Those two separate guys who both got arrested twice for the same thing within a two month span is downright stupid. Kicking a starter off your team because he was intentionally running the wrong routes as a way to convince people to give him the ball more is flat out the dumbest thing i have ever heard of. But Lomas Brown is the first thing to actually make me embarrassed to he a Lions fan.

This is coming from a former offensive lineman, we used to joke around about letting our arrogant QB just eat a free rusher all the time. It was funny in movies when they did it. I think that scene has happened in half the football movies ever made. But it doesn't really ever happen. I'm sure Lomas was just like we were in high school and in college, he was just joking around, and never really did it. But it is still embarrassing to have to hear about it. Especially in tbis era where during the course of the play Ndamukong Suh has gone overboard a few times and is unanimously considered the dirtiest player in the NFL. I dont think he has ever actually tried to injure another player though, and even that wouldnt be half as d baggy as intentionally going against your every instinct, all of your emotions, and all of your adrenaline, to intentionally let the other team hurt one of your teammates.

Like I said I doubt it has ever really happened in the NFL in any era. But I bet you could still find plenty of players who would admit to doing it. Probably only 1/10 of the number you would have.found before all of this backlash though.

Did you even say anything here? Seriously, STFU unless you have a legit comment.

But..............what exactly does it say about what type of man Lomas Brown is?
This has been a pretty big story in Detroit since he came out with this. Fans aren't happy about it.

I think it does say something about Browns character. People die playing NFL football. This was a guy who had Brown over to his house for dinner, Christmas gifts, etc. This is a guy that had children. This was a team mate. Browns job is to protect his QB. He was paid very well to do that.

On a lot of levels he revealed unfortunate aspects of his character by choosing to do what he did and then speaking so frivolously about it decades later before ever admitting it to Mitchel and apologizing for it.

Doing what he did reflects poorly on his moral character as well as his ethics as an employee. Never coming to Mitchel about it to apologize yet deciding to give a sports interviewer a scoop so much later indicates he didn't feel very burdened about his choice, otherwise he'd have tried to make and attempt at contrition.

I think he did it, never really thought it was a bad thing to do (and never really thought about the what-if's of Mitchell really getting hurt), and brought it up in the interview to look like an old-school player who helped his team by invoking some tough-love clause in the player code. Then when people started responding so poorly to it he kinda changed his tune about it. As it turns out he screwed up a lot of the facts of that particular game anyway, but that really doesn't change the spirit of what he did.

I don't know that it means he's a "bad person". I think it clearly reveals some character flaws.

Some good points, CL. Some good points indeed.

Still, I think some of the indignation over Brown's confession. Stems as much from political correctness as anything else. As its been touched on earlier in the thread. I'm of the opinion that the thing Brown did happens more than we'll ever know, particularly back when Brown did it. Was it wise for Brown to reveal it now? I'd say no. Was Brown too cavalier when he revealed it? Perhaps, but does it make Brown a man lacking in morals or character? That's a little too much Dr Phil-ing for me.

I also stated earlier in the thread that I don't blame Mitchell for feeling as he did after he heard what Brown said. I probably would've been a lot more upset myself if I were in Mitchell's place.

Not sure where that one came from out of me. I don't even remember posting it, but judging from the time stamp, I wasn't in good shape during the aftermath of the Vikings game due to lack of sleep and lots of drinks.

Sorry about that Breed, that is pretty embarrassing by me.
