    Mendenhall Suspended

    From Rotoworld:

Steelers | Rashard Mendenhall suspended Tue Dec 11, 06:48 PM

The Pittsburgh Steelers suspended RB Rashard Mendenhall for the Week 15 game Tuesday, Dec. 11, for conduct detrimental to the team. In a corresponding move, RB Baron Batch was promoted to the active roster.

Our view: Per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, this suspension has to do with Mendenhall not showing up for the Chargers game last week after being told he would not dress. Jonathan Dwyer will continue to be the team's lead back. Mendenhall hits free agency next year and is unlikely to return to Pittsburgh.
Didn't even bother showing up? Oof. Bye bye, 'Shard.

I've felt that there's more to Mendenhall being phased out of the offense than just fumble/performance issues.

The dude's a head case, and him going AWOL confirms it.

His twitter comments a year ago should have told you he was a head case. This just proves he's a whiny, pouting, self-centered head case.

Well, better than Jamaine Stephens and Huey Richardson but when it's all said and done in a decade he'll be remembered most in Pittsburgh for that killer fumble in the Super Bowl. A real shame and as you said a real head case. He's doing wonders for his next NFL contract.

With the way things are ending with Mendenhall, the 2008 draft class is looking like a real winner.

Guess he got P.O.ed due to his lack of PT after the fumbles. Not much of a loss at this point. Barring injury he probably wasn't going to get much PT this year and certainly wasn't coming back next year.

Mendenhall's inability to move the pile always annoyed me. A guy his size should be able to break tackles and move the pile and he just can't do it. Dwyer is the basically the same size and can run guys over. Mendenhall can take his spin move and pirouette his way into another town next year.

he can't move the pile because he does that stupid spin move at the LOS and loses all power.....I hate the fact that he seems to allow the Defender to initiate contact.....

    Grow up Mendenhall!!!

I'd have suspended him another game when he told his teammates he didn't think he had to be at the game. Ignorance is no excuse, not to mention even if you weren't required to be there, which he was and he knows it, you always show up and support your teammates. By the way they won't be his teammates after this season.

I'm sure the NFLPA would have something to say about that....

if it was me he would of played his final game as a Steeler unless he apologized to the entire team.

How could he not know? Wasn't he deactivated the game prior....and was on the sidelines? He thought that was just an optional thing?

Whatever. Sounds like a lame excuse for pouting to me.
