I'm glad Peters ended up sitting out this season. Hopefully he comes back and we put Herremans back at LG beside him. I think McCoy and Brown would love that. Pick up a veteran RG in FA and draft a RT.

For me, yesterday just confirmed how awful Washburn was. The D was solid and we had a pass rush. A veteran DCoordinator has a lot to work with here. He will need at least one Safety and at least 1 CB in the draft and more in FA.

There's no reason this team needs years of rebuilding to be back in contention.

Beware of Reid's "Santa Claus" mojo: his career record in December is now 41-16, a 72% winning percentage.

Thanks, they both have very similar traits. Hopefully the kid keeps it up and keeps progressing.

As for a needing a TE I agree 100%. Celek is nothing special and a TE is a safety net for QBs, especially young ones. Assuming Eifert goes in the 1st or very early 2nd I'm very interested in Zach Ertz in the 2nd, or my sleeper Joseph Fauria in the 3rd-4th.

I would also trade Djax for whatever we could get. A 2nd round pick would be outstanding, though I'd even take a 3rd at this point. I wouldn't mind trading Maclin as well, think we can get any value for him?

I like Maclin. Cooper is even growing on me. Avant has his days as well. Like to add a big guy with speed to replace DJacc but I think that ship sailed given the cap hit. Oh well for us.

We might get a TE though. At least I hope so. I had pretty high hopes for Harbor..maybe he'll show something these last few weeks. Im sure Celek will be out at least this coming game.

The big key as we all know is Foles. Lets hope he keeps getting better and more consistent. Im sure they will address the Ol in some form or fashion. They pretty much have no choice.

Let's see Foles play out the season before he's the next coming of Norm Snead.
    I promise I won't do it again

This game Thursday will tell us a lot about Foles as a prospect. Cincy has the 6th best D in the league ... if he can put up a solid showing it will give me more confidence in him going forward. The OL needs to play better than it did Sunday.

Gotta admit, it's kinda funny to hear this - when you consider McNabb was one of the highest rated players in the NFL when throwing on the run. And the deep ball was not his weakness. The irony here is pretty darn funny.

Also..been saying this for a bit but TE is a HUGE need. Id love to grab one in rounds 2-3. Especially if Foles is the guy, you gotta play to his strengths and thats the short-intermediate passing game.

Seems its a pretty good draft for TEs as well. Gotta get one. Celek drops too many and always seems to get dinged. Harbor is nothing more than a backup. He didnt progress as I had hoped, thats for sure.
On this I agree 100%. I called for a TE last year. I've said for 2 years now that Celek has been going downhill. His major strength was his consistancy in pass catching. His drops and missing have been on the rise, and he is simply not coming through at critical times. TE is a clear need. I was really disappointed that Ingram didn't pan out. Man that guy some some major highlight catches and great hands.

And a huge reason we have had him for so long... people see the wins.. not the weaknesses... never learn the lessons.. so we are stuck in ground hogs day. I still can't believe people used the wins at the end of last season as evidence for crap.

Man been laid up for 3 days with a stomach bug so I didn't get a chance to post my observations so since Wings started this thread let me post them here

    1. I thought Fole looked excellent. I really have turned the corner on him. I can't believe how much he has improved in just two games. I know Tampa's pass defense isn't that good but I really don't care about that, its about a QB knowing his progressions and throwing to the right area. Its not always going to be there but man some of the throws he made in that game were great. The drive at the end of the game was something we rarely have seen under Reid. I love the fact that Reid not only let Foles make the calls at the end, he credited him with it.

    2. The defensive line played much better know that the wide nine is gone, however they still did not get pressure at times and did let Martin run for 4.5 yards a clip. Not all the d lines fault but....

    3. Kendricks looked the player we all throught he was earlier in the year. He is clearly more comfortable at the weak side. So once again this offseason we will be in the market for you guessed a strong side linebacker.

    4. I thought the offensive line as a whole was horrible. I didn't think any of them preformed up to par that includes profootball focus phenom Evan Ole Mathis. Lets not forget we faced the worst pass rush in football and gave six sacks and 13 qb hurries in that game. Not only that they opened one hole the entire game in the run game and Brown ran for 10 yards on which brought him up to a -2 for the game. Lets face it the entire line right now is manned by career backups with the exception of Kelly who could and the jury is still out become a solid starter

    5. I thought DRC played a very imspired game. I guess he is turning on so somebody signs him to a contract in the offseason. Personally I think he is a dog with fleas. Same with Nmandi. It takes a talking to from the coach to get the fired up to play a game. F that. I want both of them gone and quickly

    6. I thought Colt Anderson played the best game of any safety we have had this year and to add to that, Nate Allen didn't look lost in the game, he didn't neccesary play great but wasn't lost.

    7. Avant and Maclin were big in this game and it wasn't just catching the football, on Foles TD run Maclin threw the block that allows him to score.

    8. I thought Clay Harbour played well in the pass game, however his blocking left alot to be desired.

Overall this game underscored a couple of things, one this team has the talent to win games even with a rookie QB. Two Andy Reid can still be a good head coach if he stops trying to be so damn cute, hires guys who run traditional systems etc. I hope Andy learns from this and takes that to his next job. I was actually happy to see his emotion at the end of that game. I never have hated Andy, I just think he is past his shelf life here in Philly.
