One coal company's view of climate change

Coal company rebuilds its coastal facility because of rising sea levels and increased cyclone frequency.

As we see more cyclone related events . . . the vulnerability of one of these facilities to a cyclone is quite high,” he said. “So we build a model saying this is how we see this impacting what the economics would be and used that with our board of directors to rebuild the facility to be more durable to climate change.
APF doesn't come in screaming at others about how stupid they are. APF doesn't spam NST with the same tired topic 30 times a month. APF doesn't link to some kook in his mom's basement telling you how to, "Be afraid. Be very afraid" of the world falling down around you. And, when APF is proven wrong, he acknowledges he made a mistake and moves on, rather than harping about "sheeple."

I've been pointing at stuff like this for years now. The Canadian govt saying that global warming isn't that big of a problem, but ordering thinner hulled ice breakers. All the northern nations trying to gain Arctic sovereignty because of all the resources that are coming into play with the melting of ice. I'd say that Billiton would know about Arctic warming too, they've been big players in the NWT with diamond mining for a long time.

"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - Kung fu Monkey

I bought a second sump pump because my basement gets more water during hurricanes.
    I promise I won't do it again
