Since Castillo was Fired (6 Games) ...

............. opposing quarterbacks have an unheard of 142.4 passer rating. They've completed 76.3 percent of their passes. They're averaging 10.0 yards per attempt. They've thrown 16 touchdown passes and no interceptions.

That is legendarily BAD! and to make it worst, this D was been the picture of health ... only 3 missed games by starters ... 1 by Safety Nate Allen and 2 by LB Akeem Jordan. I would have a field day cutting and firing at the end of the year if I were running things.

May be a busy time for Greg Roman in February, after he helps Niners win the SB! ;)

If you hire a SB coach you have to wait too long to hire him and he has trouble getting assisstants because they already got scooped up by the other new coaches.

Castillo should not have been fired. He probably deserves another look actually. Way better with him.

While cynics whine about what the Eagles haven't done. Real Eagle fans focus on what we should do.

Yep, surprisingly, Reid seems to have drastically misread the situation with the defense. He was probably hoping to resolve some of the conflicts going on by firing Castillo; his close friend; but instead he seems to have alienated the defense as they clearly were more annoyed with Washburn that Castillo.

I wouldn't mind seeing Castillo back, but as the OL coach. Just because he was wrongly tabbed as the scapegoat doesn't mean we can't find a better hiring as the DC.

You guys are nuts. The D was trending downward the last 2 games he was here. We're seeing the same results we would have seen had Castillo stayed. What we see isn't much different than what they did 3/4ths of last year.

I dont think its a coincidence that the position group that Bowles came from, went to dogchit after he got promoted. Dude might be the best secondary coach in the NFL. He made those 4 clowns look half way decent the first 6 games.

Castillo should have been fired after last season. Like most of us wanted. Along with Reid. One last hurrah with Vick was just a dumb idea. Now we are a year behind in our rebuild.

You guys can't grade anyone on these players. Half have clearly quit. That kills a coach. Castillo is better than Bowles but neither are as bad as they look this year.

I keep hearing the players have quit. Who? Name just one guy you think has quit on the team. Just one. The problem on this team is major injuries to the OL, a QB who didnt progress, a secondary that was soft to start the season, the DL taking a major nose dive and the D not knowing what its doing.

GOing into this season with Reid/Castillo, re-signing DJacc, only getting a late 3rd rounder to back up VIck, and thinking that soft secondary would work...made no sense back then and make less now.

The only real surprises here are the injuries to the OL and the DL taking a major nose dive. Thats about it.

But ...hey, maybe they are really good...they just quit the last 2 seasons.

Those last 4 games to end last year really did fool a lot of people. Which wouldnt matter if they didnt fool Lurie.
