    Von Fined...Again

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...of-suspension/

Broncos linebacker Von Miller is a candidate for the NFL’s defensive player of the year award. But if he’s not careful, he may soon be a candidate for a suspension as well.

The NFL has confirmed that Miller was fined $25,000 for striking Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman below the knee area last week. Miller, who was given a 15-yard penalty for that hit on Freeman, has now been fined enough times for illegal hits that he risks the NFL deciding that fines just aren’t getting the message through to him, and that suspensions are next.

If Reed gets off for his helmet to helmet hit, then Von should too. It's not like the kid is being held on the way down; what's he supposed to do? Idiots.

At the end of the year someone in the league office has a big party -intent needs to be taken into consideration if you are going to fine someone.

I guess maybe my homer glasses are on, but I don't really think outside of one or two instances that the hits Von Miller is getting fined for are vicious hits that warrant discipline by the league.

That last hit on Josh Freeman wasn't bad at all.

These guys are big and fast and everything happens in a split second....most of the hits Von Miller and most others are getting fined for are bull****.

It bothers me because the NFL is run by a bunch of lawyers and they are doing everything they can to make it look like like are being proactive in making the game safer....and are starting to move into uncharted territory that is resulting in changing the way the game is going to be played.

I'm all for being cognizant and aware of concussions, but you will never rid football of hard hits that result in some injuries....hitting another man in order to stop him from moving forward is always going to result in violent collisions. Players know the risks involved and always have, outside of the long term ramifications of concussions....and I'm in agreement with the NFL in sitting concussed players out until they are medically cleared to play again.

These concussion lawsuits have the NFL freaking out and they are doing all of this in order to maneuver themselves for the upcoming legal battles that loom on the horizon.

In my opinion, football is football, it is what it is....a violent sport.

You start messing with the basic fundamentals of it and eventually it won't be the game of football I grew up watching.
