I've immensely enjoyed watching Peyton Manning sling it for the Broncos this season.

A few years ago, I finally admitted to my friends that I thought he was the greatest QB of all time and they were shocked, as they know what a John Elway fan I am. Peyton Manning has done nothing but solidify my opinion this season....its been a joy to watch him ply his trade as a Denver Bronco. I bet Peyton ends up playing another 3 or 4 years after this season. He will still be able to perform at a high level as his physical skills start to naturally diminish during the remainder of his career. His mental grasp of the game has to be off the charts.

I figured Denver would go 9-7 or 10-6, win the division, and possibly win a playoff game and that the true Super Bowl run would occur in the next 3 seasons, as Denver adds a few more pieces to the puzzle and as Peyton Manning and the offense get on the same page. This team is not a dominating team, but there are no dominating teams. Denver has a nice blend of players that play well as a team and seem to put the team first. We have 2 veteran leaders in Peyton Manning and Champ Bailey that the other players on the team don't want to let down. I'd love nothing more than to see Champ Bailey finally get a Super Bowl ring. I always appreciated the fact that he stuck with the Broncos and signed a new deal a few years ago, when Denver was at a low point. It would have been easy for him to move on to a different team in search of a Super Bowl ring.

The defense reminds me of Denver's 1997 and 1998 Super Bowl winning defenses in that when Denver gets a lead, they smell blood and start a feeding frenzy that results in big plays, sacks, INTs, and forced fumbles. I love nothing more than seeing both pockets collapse as Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil close in on the QB simultaneously. I'm a big fan of the forced fumble stat and Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil each have 6 forced fumbles on the season. That ties each of them for the single season club record of 6, also held by Dennis Smith in 1989.

I've been satisfied with Knowshon Moreno stepping in and replacing Willis McGahee....Denver needs him to be healthy going into the playoffs. I'm happy for Knowshon and was impressed with his attitude after he was basically shelved for most of the season after the first few weeks. He hasn't been perfect and looks confused on where to line up at times, but he's the best 3 down back Denver has on the roster at this time and is capable of stringing together some nice games.

I'm not looking too far ahead at this time and have been really trying to enjoy this season week to week. I'm not sure how far Denver will go and don't want to make any predictions, but they are one of 7 or 8 teams that have a legitimate shot of going all the way. All I know is that I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Denver play every week. It's the most fun I've had watching the team play since 1997 and 1998.

Elway will always be king because all he could do physically skill set is better then Mannings. Manning is the best mental game manager ever no doubt love having him here.
