    San Diego/Ryan Mathews

What is it with SD and the lack of a running game? I get Ryan Mathews may not be great, but you'd never really know because they don't even attempt to give him a chance. He's once again only gotten 8 carries through 3 quarters in a 13-10 game. I just don't get why they don't really try to get a running game going.

Yes I have Mathews and it pisses me off. Especially considering I get sucked into believing the next game is the one he's going to break out. I know it's not only me because these so called experts that rank players weekly rank him like a weekly #2 starter, but he ends up playing more like a bye week replacement.

Norv Turner sucks...and I've been calling Mathews a stiff for a long time. I simply won't touch a Chargers player as long as Norv is there.

It's a combination of two things: 1. San Diego has one of the worst offensive lines in football right now. 2. Norv Turner doesn't have *****ing clue how to call a game. Ryan Mathews, though not an elite back, is actually a very solid back who could probably avg about 80 yards rushing, 30 yards passing a TD every week given an average offense...

The announcers were saying that Norv doesn't like his vision. He jumps at the chance to bounce a run to the outside instead of being patient and waiting for his hole to open up. Doesn't make sense that Ronnie Brown wouldn't get more carries, though.
As cliche as it may sound, I'd like to raise another round, and if your bottle's empty help yourself to mine, thank you for your time and here's to life.

This is the reason I really don't believe it's Mathews that's the problem. You'd think alright maybe Norv doesn't like Mathews, but if that was the case wouldn't he at least give Brown or some other RBs carries? He doesn't give anyone carries and to me that makes me feel like it's a Norv playcalling issue and not knowing how to use these guys.

Sadly I think this team would be well served to hire Andy Reid as the next coach. He'd turn Rivers into a very good QB and Mathews is his kind of RB. He would need to address the WR situation as they definitely aren't what he likes in a WR. I could actually see this happening and somehow the Chargers ending up with D. Jackson and Andy turning this team into the Eagles west. I don't mean bring in all the Eagles, but I mean the success he had for all those years up until recently when he ran out his welcome. He'd make SD and Rivers relevant again.

Andy Reid can't bring Jim Johnson back from the dead so I really don't see him achieving that success again.

Its a combination of OL and Mathews not playing well. He isn't running with much authority and doesn't see the hole well. Too bad I drafted him.......might end up cutting him this week.
