Lions find yet another way to lose

Hey guys havent been on lately so just wanted to pop in. This has been such a frustrating and wasted year. If this team knew how to close the could easily be 8 - 4 instead of 4-8. There is such a small margin between winning and losing u have to close out games. The Lions have no clue how to close out games and its ashame. The Lions just lost 3 straight at home and were leading all 3 games with less than 3 minutes left. Thats just inexcusable! I have been a lifelong lions fan and have been watching this fickled team for 4 decades now and this particular team is one of the more frustrating lions teams in recent memory.

So I guess its on to our usual hightlight --the draft--where we can get all pumped up by what a great team we are going to have next season Oh boy at least we get the last place schedule that ought to make the difference

I think Schwartz blew it by not passing on the 3rd & 5 at the end of the game.

Me too a play action little roll out and a dump to the TE would have been wide open but the Lions game of *would a should a could a* has been going on all season. I accurately predicted that the Lions would punt the ball back and told my buddy the Colts would score on the last play of the game - I could just since it - thats how the whole season has gone why change now - Un fricking real though that a team with this must talent is 4-8 Maybe this franchise really is jinxed u have to wonder What a wasted Year

    Yep.

blue, honestly, I flipped the switch in my head from "Really intense fandom" to "Have a beer and just enjoy the game" two weeks ago when it was clear that we weren't going to make the playoffs. Still want to win, still watch the games, but I've divested the emotional commitment for the remainder of the year so I can enjoy the rest of the season.

    We've had probably 7 of 8 losses determined by 1 play (a play, a penalty, a not-penalty) that it's just ridiculous.

We are the best bad team in the league, maybe the best bad team in many many years. We can compete with any team in the league this year and lose by *this* much, so I just suggest you relax and try to enjoy the games. Focus on player development. Cheer for Calvin to break Rice's receiving record. Evaluate players for their future value on the team. That kind of stuff.

Don't kill yourselve agonizing over any of it.

Also, try to re-embrace the age old Lions Fan Mantra "Yeah we lost, but we'll get a higher draft pick" :)

Seriously, I think the Lions have a lot of talent and it's fairly uncommon for a team with this much talent to be picking in the top 10 of the draft.

    Silver lining, baby.

I think the Lions through the years have already found all of the ways to lose that are possible. Now they're just recycling.

Are we really drafting top 10 right now? I knew we were having a bad year, but I hadn't really stepped back and realized it was quite that bad.

I think our opponents avg winning % is what will gimp us out of the top 5.

Looking at the schedule, we have 3 world killers left (in Green Bay, Chicago, Atlanta) and Arizona (away). I'm thinking we win 1 of those games.

    5 - 11 record probably sees us picking around 9 (I'd guess).

Right now there are 5 teams with records worse than the Lions. There are 4 other teams with only 4 wins. I'd guess that means that *right now* we are picking 10th. It's going to be hard to go much higher than that.

I couldnt agree with ya more Cryn lion I have had the exact same sentiment about the Lions After the Packers game debacle I was just going to sit back and watchthings unfold because I had exacerbated way too much engery and was on the verge of a fatal heart attack if I didnt!!!! They are the most talented 4-8 team in the league what a travisty. Too Bad about Broyles too.
I just hope they learn from this but I am going to tread lighlty before they reel me back in yet again -

Remember all those games last season that the Lions won in the last few minutes/seconds...? Yep, those things even out.

Man, Stafford went from looking all pro to looking completely out of sync in the span of a bad fumble last night.

He was like 12 for 14 before that play and afterwards our offense looked like they were playing in lead shoes.
