You have to understand contracts to understand why Lurie controls Reid for next year no matter what. Even though its reported as a firing it not as such like it would be from your traditional job. Reid can't be paid from two teams at once unless Lurie agrees upon it. So if Reid accepts another job with another team the other team has to get Luries approval and buy out the contract.

Either way, Reid is not coaching anywhere next year, the guy will take a year off he has to. He is burnt out you can see it. He will collect is 5 mill or so from the Eagles while he sets up his next gig.

I believe if you fire a coach and he sits out the rest of his contract, you're required to pay him... If he signs with someone else, you are off the hook for the remaining contract... There's no trades/givebacks for signing a fired coach...

EXACTLY!! Reid staying in the division would be the best thing in the world for the Eagles.

Yea, don't know what you got til it's gone. How many playoff games have we won since McNabb left?? All the problems got fixed once he left, right?? Hmmm.

Turns out this rumor is from our old friend Mark Eckle of Trenton Times(?). None of his rumors ever turn out to be true.

I'm pretty sure this is how it works.

What did the mighty Mchoke win? At least we got to the playoffs once. On the other hand, Mcchoke won SIX games in 3 years.
