Valiant Mexican mayor finally lost her battle w/ the cartels

I have loosely followed this story for the last few years. It's a shame she finally lost her life after a few attempts against her.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-attempts.html

The link is probably NSFW, or at least it has some fairly gnarly pics (post-surgery gunshot wounds, a deceased body from a distance). Her story was remarkable, and the world needs more people like her. Hopefully the US will decriminalize or legalize most drugs and help Mexico crack down on the cartel problem.

She is a patriot and her family and nation should remember her as a hero struggling for a just and peaceful country. I admire her greatly.

    What a woman!
Had more courage than a thousand men in Mexico.
    Her story won't die.

Courageous, but I think the only thing a dozen more like her will get you is a dozen more caskets.
The word "hero" is frequently abused badly. This is a real hero.

This is why we need to legalize drugs. It's stupid....

You might want to join the Green Party if you are a fiscal liberal and believe in much lighter drug programs and largely taking criminalization of drugs out of law. I'm a Libertarian and I'm a fiscal conservative, yet Libertarians are socially liberal when it comes to personal rights and freedoms. I am with you on your view. I know we don't agree on the "spending" policy side of government, but we agree on much of the social freedom side of politics.

a part of me commends her for standing up to the cartels but when u have kids your putting them in danger as well

most likely she was tortured and raped before being killed

when your country is controlled by cartels standing up to them is a death sentence. at some point i feel the usa is going to have to enter mexico and clean it up. you cant have a rico state on your border, its simply too dangerous

i remember a story about a mother who faught to have her daughters killer brought to justice in mexico but it failed after the kid joined the cartels and eventually they killed the mother as well.

there is no justice in that country and i wont step one foot in it

Or just plain executed. It's nothing personal it's just business.

In theory the Mexican military would have the fire power to take out the cartels but the amount of money has got to be so much that I would guess most them on the take.

And as long as drugs are illegal and hard to obtain, there will be more stories just like hers.

I voted Gary Johnson as well. Awesome. Thank you for voting your conscience. I wish everyone would really look at what the super-funded "mainstream/controlled" candidates are doing to the nation.

On your "conspiracy" accusations. Well, everything I posted (except one story I jumped the gun on), have been verified, I have linked video and articles backing them up and they aren't conspiracies when the idiots tell you in their own words and/or leave substantial evidence. Everything in that thread is FACT, not a bit of it is "conspiracy". That thread is about what is not on the news but should be, it's not about phony conspiracy.

I guess another solution would be to have people stop buying drugs, you know, to comport themselves in such a way that cartels wouldn't have a means to exist. But who am I kidding? We are an evil creature.
