I admit that I really do despise everybody with tattoos all over their body, but this kid seems to get it. I hope so anyways. I kinda like this part:
A few months later, Kaepernick roomed with Cam Newton at the NFL combine in Indianapolis. Newton went No. 1 overall while Kaepernick waited until the draft's second day to hear his name called.
"I talked to him after that," Harris says. "His mentality was, 'You know what, I'm going to crush that guy.'"

Yeah I enjoyed that part too. Definitely seems to be saying and doing all the right things. That's why I'm so high on the kid. He's no guarantee that's for sure(not that anyone is) but he has all the tools and the drive to be great.
I'm certainly rooting for him. Always good to have a guy already that competitive, that much into the spot, such a hard work...and has a chip on his shoulder.
For all the talent Cam Newton has he seems to be more interested in promoting himself. Colin just seems like a guy who loves the sport and wants to be the best.
Cam Newton has everything physically you would want in a QB, and that may be why he'll never advance as a player. He seems to rely solely on that aspect without the mental approach which obviously is a necessity. When guys like Brady or Rogers or Manning go through a bad play or series, you always see them looking at photos and learning where they messed up. Now, I don't watch many Panther games, but it seems anytime Newton screws up, he's either sulking under a towel, or working out on an exercise bike.
As you said, he's a 'look-at-me/me-first' player more interested in doing his little routine in the end zone (even when they're getting killed - see Panthers/Giants) than he is trying be a teammate.
Agreed 100%. Cam also has never really faced any adversity in his life. He won pretty much everywhere he went and was always THAT guy. Kaepernick definitely didn't have anything handed to him on a silver platter. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Colin ended up being the better player and by a wide margin.
