Winning in Detroit is almost never easy for the Packers as the rivalry is a long one. With the Packers, coming off a bye-week, looking rather flaccid offensively, the defense kept them in the game. This gave Aaron Rodgers a chance and he grabbed the brass ring and threw the game winning TD to Randall Cobb.
Frankly, I was distressed at the awful play of the offense coming off that bye-week, perhaps the rivalry indeed played its part yet again. But there have been times this season when the offense has looked putrid and only the stellar play of Rodgers has risen above all that and gotten this team to a mark of 7-3. If this was last years defense however all of Rodgers personal great play would be for naught. So again a shout out to DC Dom Capers who has done a really nice job so far in 2012.
The kicking game , meaning Mason Crosby, has become a weak point. Crosby has been very reliable since the Packers drafted him and this season's struggles have caught everyone off guard. I was surprised that the team chose not to bring in a kicker or two to work out during the bye, just to send a message to Crosby. Crosby, if he continues his poor kicking, may well cost this team an important game. He's performed well before, but can he regain that form this season?
Next up, Sunday night in New Jersey at the Giants who are themselves coming off a bye-week.
