    k.
That may be the ultimate "what the ****" of Tomlin's tenure.

Where did you see Lefty is out for sure Superbelt, have seen nothing so far and Tomlin's postgame comments seem to say it wasn't much. I know Jason La Canfora is saying he's heard he could be out, but since when is he every accurate on anything as far as the Steelers. I fully expect Lefty will start against Cleveland over Batch, if he is out guess Batch is it by default. Not sure who we'd sign at this point but sure hope they aren't considering Gerard as he is a waste. Guess I could see Dixon signed off Raven's PS or Johnson, but neither would be ready to start right away meaning Batch is it and with fact the brownies sacked Romo like 7 times this week if we can't protect Leftwich or Batch could be down to Heath Miller as the emergency guy.

    That said:

There is no doubt in my mind that in the offseason we have to go find some youth at QB for depth and one or both of Lefty/Batch have to go. The advantage we have had in experience behind Ben is no longer an advantage. Lefty barely got through last night's game acting at times as though his rib was broken. He was very below average last night and missed numerous wide open receivers, though I will give him Wallace's effort was subpar as well and he is far from earning a big playday. It also hurt not having Brown in and having to use Miller so much in pass protection. This all shows me they have little confidence in Batch as well since towards the end Lefty missed open receivers short because he seemed bothered by the rib/shoulder so much he wasn't able to fully extend through the throws he was making. Batch you would have thought would have given us a better chance at some completions at the end of the game. We have got to go out and find a young QB to develop who shows they can compete when called into duty. I am still not understanding why they didn't resigned J. Johnson to at least the PS who looked quite good in preseason. He seemed to be the perfect young QB to develop, at minimum on the PS but actually appeared to win a backup job (2 or 3) early on only to be released and not resigned. Lefty is a glasshouse at this point and obviously the faith in Batch in waning.

I will give the defense credit they played and excellent game, especially Taylor/Lewis/Clark and Allen. They completely took the receiving corps out of the game. I also liked how the front 7 took Rice's contributions out of the equation as well.

STs unfortunately once again failed us. In a game where you are missing your franchise player, you have to be perfect in all other facets of your game and we were not.

My take on Wallace is that getting his feet down and making the diving catch just aren't really in his skillset. He's fast and that's about it. His lack of progress in becoming a complete football player is the reason he is unlikely to get the huge deal from the Steelers. He's more Willie Gault than Jerry Rice. One trick pony.

You're right, I didn't look at the name reporting and it was that douchey little troll.

Dude looked hurt in game, and after to me. I'm leaning towards thinking he can't go.

He absolutely looked like he had some kind of rib deal to me. That one long throw he made where he actually had his full time to wind up, but still bounced it 10 yards in front of the deep guy on a comeback, sold it for me. Leftwich does ONE thing at an elite level: throw deep. Unless he was hurting, he probably could've at least got the ball in the vicinity of the WR on that play while sitting on his a@#$.

Defense did about as good as you could ask for them to do outside of generating a turnover. That was the big difference, even with the PR for a TD. No short fields for the offense, whereas the Ravens' O got one twice and converted points. Average start position for Steelers last night was their own 19. Blah.

Sam Koch was the Ravens' POTG, easy.

I thought pretty much the same thing. A healthy Leftwich and that ball is in not only in the vicinity, its likely a game winner. The wr was behind the coverage and coming back for a short throw. If Batch had been in the game at that point I doubt he escaped the pressure. And even if he did, Lefty's lame throw was probably deeper than Batch could get it anyway.

Thank you AZ. This made my freakin day!
