I agree with you I wouldn't draft a first round QB this year DB. I wouldn't throw a ton into the offensive line either. To be fair any team would have serious issue missing as many starters as we have. I would focus on the defense if I was the new coach. I don't know what the deal is with the DE positon. Babin and Cole have looked like crap all season. Yet we haven't even seen a sniff of Hunt who has a awesome pre season or Curry. You got Cox to build around at DT. The LB could still be addressed. Ryan's and Kendricks could be 2 of the 3 starters. Te'o with them would be a great. It would give the defense a new identity and a leader going into the future. No top 10 talent at the S position imo. Then we probably need at least 2 new starters at CB. I haven't watched the Bama kid or Miss State kid so i'm not going to pretend I know much about either. But both seem to be going in the top 15 of mock drafts at this stage.

After giving it some additional thought I wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles re-work Vicks deal, the reason being that Foles may not be the guy, the FA market blows and working out a trade for a potential starter isn't likely. With a new OLine Vick will improve and although he's not a SB type QB he could still function. The Eagles aren't likely to contend for a year or two so keeping Vick while Foles or someone else matures might be what Howie is thinking. It also wouldn't surprise me if Vick gets a case of the azz and wants out if (when) Reid leaves.

Now, if only Vick would follow Reid out the door maybe football would be fun again.

Your nuts! Trent Edwards would be just fine to bridge the gap until Foles is ready, but I think you get the right coach, you get the o-line healthy again, you bring in a few guys via the draft and pick up a free agent and you get Foles going. You draft another young QB in the first 3 rds to compete with Foles for the starting job. Michael Vick will go elsewhere and make big money....there is no need to pay big money here. A team like Arizona would pay Vick big money because with their defense, and their offensive weapons they are a competitive QB away from being a playoff team. For us it's a complete makeover. This team must be blown up!

Its going to be Foles if not then Vick will be back on a renegotiated contract because he is the best option out of any of the free agents. I am not impressed with the draft prospects this year.

Taz it makes no sense to keep Vick at all....none....this team is being rebuilt, when rebuilding a team you don't go with an over priced veteran QB that has been nothing more than mediocre his entire career. You build your defense #1, your build your o-line and you take your lumps with your young QB....and Foles shows promise. As I said in another post Andrew Luck was the #1 pick in the draft, he is Suppose to be the best of the best, and he was picked off 3 times yesterday, 2 were returned for td's. Andrew Luck has 12 td's and 12 int's and has a 57% comp percentage....If he were an Eagle QB 90% of this board would be labeling him a bust! However anyone that has a clue can see he shows poise in the pocket, he keeps his eyes downfield, when given time he throws a nice ball. Foles has displayed some of these same qualities, problem is he doesn't get anywhere close to as much time to throw, and he surely doesn't have a Reggie Wayne. Heres a Rookie Qb's Stats 26 td's 28 int's and a 56.7 Comp Percentage that would belong to one Peyton Manning. These guys are #1 picks!!! Matt Schaub was a 3rd rd pick, and it took him several years to develop...He is a good solid QB, not the best, but a solid QB you can win a SB with, but guys like him aren't developed overnight, and Peyton Manning type QB's come along once every 10 years. My point is you have to live and die with teh kid at QB, especially when your rebuilding.

RGUno - Rex Grossman. Or if you're religious, trust in JC - Jason Campbell will take you to the promised land.

I would also add Brandon Weeden to the OP's list as a trade option. The new Browns regime is going to clean house and I wouldn't be surprised to see them put Weeden on the market. He'd probably be a fair option if the new coach likes him.

Wings I said IF NOT Foles then it could be Vick. That means the new coaching staff doesn't think Foles is starting material. We all need to see Foles the rest of the year as does the next coaching staff. I like what I see so far in Foles but I also remember Bobby Hoying

Man I wanted Colin Kaepernick badly when he was coming out!! He's looking real good against that vaunted bears defense

He did look pretty good. He made the same cover 2 killing throw a couple times. Must have worked on it all week and then good execution.

Could be their guy in 2013 and that would free up Alex Smith for us next year. There's not a franchise guy in our near future that I can see.
