I like the idea of a dominant team, and even the idea of a mini-dynasty, but teams like that don't exist anymore. Even if the Packers had capped off their 15-1 regular season with a Super Bowl win last year, I'd think of them as a team who had one of the hottest stretches of QB play ever that overcame a swiss cheese defense more than I'd think of them as dominant. Of course with parity reigning so supreme, you could make a similar argument that there's really no such thing as a surprise team anymore either

This may actually be true. I'm also not sure that the Giants last year were a surprise team. They had a Super Bowl win just a few years before and a lot of people were saying that they can be a dangerous team to face. I think the 07 Giants were a surprise since they haven't had no recent winning experience. I do remember someone posting here how he wonders what the Giants would look like that year with good QB play. Well we got it and won the Super Bowl.

I was thinking the same thing. Why not one of those 49er teams? Or more recently, the Pats.
As cliche as it may sound, I'd like to raise another round, and if your bottle's empty help yourself to mine, thank you for your time and here's to life.
