Well, For The Very First Time In My Life...

I just cracked open a distinctly two yolked egg. I've never seen that before.

Would this have resulted in a two-headed chicken, or twin chicks? Or is this genetic food thing about to become monstrous?

Anybody else have any recent 'first time in my life' occurrences happen lately? Post them here.

    I'd say twins.

I had an entire dozen like that. They were organic free range chickens, no genetic trickery.

They yolk is the "nutrition" for the chick, so no, it doesn't result in twins. Maybe just a fatter chick.

    Fair Share, Fair Share!

Next time you must pay an extra 25 cents for your eggs.

Chickens deserve the right to lay double yolked eggs if they want. Quit forcing your beliefs on the chickens of America, freedom hater.

The yolk is for the germ cell that is supposed to be fertilized. There should be a germ cell on each of the yolks. If this egg was fertilized, I would assume the egg would never hatch, as the chicks would die from lack of space.

This thread is worthless without pictures.
