Perseverance. For John Hall, it's more than a word - it's a way of life. Besides his unrivaled precision on the field, it's perhaps the trait he's most known for.
Rasta pointed out on Sunday that the best Redskins kicker in years was in fact Mr. John Hall. I never claimed he was great, just the tallest midget.
Yeah I too am unimpressed with the college stats of this guy Can we settle this dispute about the width of college vs. pro goal posts? Look the same to me.

[I][Goal posts in both the NFL and college football are 18 feet 6 inches apart. The goal posts in college used to be 23 feet 4 inches wide but were reduced to the same width as the NFL in 1991/I]

David Akers was your best kicker in years, only you didn't know it.
I just blinked and missed five Redskins kicker signings...
Yeah don't think for a minute that I'm not still bitter about that. It was why I wanted them to keep Gano as he continued to hit his center in the ass.
Back to college yeah duck they were able to use a "tee" which was kind of like a hockey puck that the ball was placed on before the kick. And yeah I remember those goal posts being very wide with short uprights. There was a long list of great college kickers who failed. Here is perhaps the most famous, a duel kicker/punter picked 1tth overall by the Saints (ouch).
I remember the high-school-like goal posts, but I don't remember college players being able to use a tee on field goals. Seems to require more coordination from the holder, to the point it could be detrimental.
