^^ Gotcha, thanks. I suspected there were probably different camps, but didn't know the names for them, and I can look them up on my own (you don't need to do ALL of my lifting!). It wouldn't cross my mind to consider that a camp would consider this having already happened, although that makes sense. And of course, it is that "nitty gritty" which makes your overall approach salient and pretty reasonable to me. I've just been curious because the relationship between some of these groups and the Israeli gov't and tourism bureau comes up from time to time there, although it's generally beyond the cares of most American Jews, from my experience. (<--- although the group of Jews I travel in is generally a pretty secular bunch, beyond the cultural component of the faith, and even that is pretty selective).
FYI, here's a video that I think does a decent job of explaining the history of end times beliefs in America. I think it also gets at what we've been talking about in terms of how our beliefs are influenced and shaped in part by the culture and times we live in.

Not because I necessarily agree with anything he says. Though the history lesson on the gayness of the Spartan army and gayness in general during the time was both informative and entertaining. I just dig dude's "take no prisoners" style.
